Dr M was a friend, guide and a mentor. A man whom everyone trusted to always speak sense. Whenever I would have challenges, I would message him and he would efficiently reply with sound advice. I was fortunate to have worked with him in the CCG and PCNs but I was lucky enough to go beyond that layer and learn that this was a truly remarkable man. I remember the last time we went out for dinner. His personality kept me speaking to him for 4/5 hours; usually I focus on the food, but he had me captivated, engaged deep in thought and discussion. He had many layers to him. There was medicine/ religion/humanitarianism/ humbleness and also having the lens of having privileged schooling but also being bought up and engaged in the most deprived part of london with one of the lowest life expectancies. It gave him a true balanced view to life and I was honoured to have him as a friend and colleague. He leaves a big hole for myself and many others and I can’t quite put in words how grateful I am to him and Naz. May this true gentleman be rewarded with the highest levels in heaven.
